The Kaiwo Maru, a Japanese training ship based in Tokyo, is a 4-masted square rigged bark. The ship is the second largest sailing ship in the world and rarely leaves Japan. She was paying a courtesy visit to Richmond, British Columbia, Canada and was docked in Steveston Harbour, BC. A tug tows a barge with sand with the ship and the mountains of Vancouver Island in the background.
