220621-A-EQ028-1118 ARABIAN GULF (June 21, 2022) Sailors conduct a preflight inspection on an MH-53 Sea Dragon helicopter, attached to Helicopter Mine Countermeasures (HM) Squadron 15, during flight operations aboard the expeditionary sea base USS Lewis B. Puller (ESB 3), during exercise Iron Defender in the Arabian Gulf, June 21. Iron Defender is an annual bilateral training event between Naval Forces Central Command and forces from the United Arab Emirates. The exercise focuses on maritime security operations, mine countermeasures, and harbor defense.
