Horizontal wide angle view at night of the Burg square, Bruges' most historic square, with the Gothic-styled Stadhuis (Town hall) and the Burgerlijke Griffie (Old Civic Registry) connected by a small archway known as Blinde Ezelstraat (Blind Donkey Street) all illuminated. In the mid 9th century, Baldwin Iron Arm built a castle or 'burg' here from which it got it's name. The smaller of the two main squares in Bruges, it is the civic and religious heart of the city, which was totally cleaned and restored in the 1980's.
