Wairakei is a 181 Megawatt geothermal power station in the Taupo Volcanic Zone on the north island of New Zealand supporting around three to four per cent of the countries electricity. Das Wairakei-Geothermie-Kraftwerk liegt in der Taupo-Zone auf der Nordinsel von Neuseeland und liefert mit 181 Megawatt rund drei bis vier Prozent der in Neuseeland benötigten Elektrizität.
