It is very hard indeed to draw;he line and refuse to give credit. Itilso restricts a mans business, since)ther dealers are sure to give credit, andso obtain a great part of the custom thats carried on over the telephone. One Store Had To Be Closed In June of this year my partner, , died and almost at the same timeour building was sold over our heads andwe had to leave. I then moved all mystock up into the Pitt Street store andcarried on the business there myself. Atfirst I tried to carry the business on acash plan, but found that it meant a lossof a number of my customers, and I wasforced to do a credit business. However,I restricted my credit side as much aspossible, and still keep down the numberof accounts carried as much as is no doubt that at the presenttime a grocer must get the money forhis stock as soon as possible, both on ac-count of the continually changing prices, and on account of the conditions underwhich he is able to buy his supplies atthe present time. Our wholesalers andjobbers demand almost cash payment fortheir goods
