Blocking the road. India: THIS LAZY tiger decides to block the road for passing tourists, becoming as the main attraction on their image shows a tiger sitting in the middle of the road with a hoard of jeeps appearing behind it, inching forward for a better view of the big cat. Bengal tigers can grow up to 83 inches in length with the addition of a 43-inch tail and can weigh in excess of 500 pounds. These images were captured by architecture student and photographer Abhikram Shekhawat (19) at Ranthambhore National Park in Rajasthan, India, using a Sony A1 camera. ?Tigers in famous reserves like Ranthambhore which are visited by millions of people every year are not afraid of jeeps driving around. They care and think little about them unless you get too close for comfort,? said Abhikram. ?As a photographer, these kinds of pictures are not what you want to aim for, but images with tigers and a huge plethora of jeeps are good for promoting ecotourism as you get a sense of what the experience would be like. ?Tigers are one of the most formidable hunters in all the animal kingdom, so it is natural to be fearful around them. ?Seeing a tiger in the wild is always special, it doesn't matter how many times you have seen one, there is always an adrenaline boost which takes a toll on the body and the feeling cannot be described in mediadrumimages/AbhikramShekhawa
