Intrepid behaviour of Captain Charles Napier, 15 April 1809 (c1857). Napier, commanding the 18 gun brig HMS 'Recruit', fighting the much larger 74 gun French ship of the line 'Hautpoult' in the Caribbean. After a three day running battle 'Recruit' succeeded in capturing the French vessel.
