HANDSOME CARS FOR THE HARTFORD & SPRINGFIELDSTREET RAILWAY COMPANY The Hartford & Springfield Street Railway Company hasplaced in service recently a number of handsome 25-ft. and30-ft. vestibule cars built for it by the Laconia Car CompanyWorks, of Boston, Mass. One of these cars is shown in theaccompanying illustration. The 30-ft. cars have a seating capacity for forty-four people;they have straight sides, sheathed; steam car type of roof, with. The inside finish of the car is of the Laconia standard designin selected mahogany, and the ceilings are painted and deco-rated. The seats, which were manufactured by HeywoodBrothers & Wakefield, are upholstered in olive plush, withbronze grab handles on the backs. The Laconia high-speeddouble trucks, on which the car bodies are mounted, are fittedwith 34-in. steel-tired wheels. The
