On San Antonio Creek 20,000 acres at Pomona, Clare-mont. Upland and Ontario are irrigated from a watershed in SanGabriel Mountains of 36 square miles. The two Avatersheds comparefavorably as to elevation, but differ as to rainfall. On San AntonioCreek all surface discharge is used in the irrigating season, the distribu-tion being entirely by underground pipe. The underground water ispumped from over 100 wells and winter flood waters are spread overthe gravels to replenish the underground basins so that practically nowater escapes. ^^^.
