Pill camera. Recording device for a pill camera held in belt around a patient's waist. The pill camera is a small capsule swallowed by a patient to obtain images of the digestive system. The digital images are transmitted by radio waves to the external recorder. The patient is able to carry on with normal activities whilst wearing the belt. The camera can be used to diagnose ulcers, inflammation and cancer, amongst other digestive disorders. This is the recorder for Pillcam, developed by the Israeli company Give Imaging. The camera weighs 4 grams and runs on battery power, transmitting over 50,000 images over an eight-hour period.
