Spiraea x pseudosalicifolia or Confused Bridewort
Spiraea x pseudosalicifolia or Confused Bridewort is a naturally occuring hybrid cross between Bridewort (Spiraea x salicifolia) and Steeplebush (Spiraea douglasii). The wild shrub bears pink fluffy flowering spikes during the summer which turn brown. This particular hybrid has a red brown stem and bright green willow shaped leaves. Whilst primarily a garden plant it does thrive in the wild.
