Voyager 1 photograph of the planet Saturn & two of its moons, Tethys (top) & Dione. The shadows of Saturn's three bright rings & of Tethys are cast onto the cloud tops. The large gap in the rings is the 3500-km wide Cassini Division, which separates the narrower A ring (above) from the broad B ring. The thin gap near the top edge of the A ring is the Encke Division, beyond which is the faint & narrow C ring. The picture was taken on November 3, 1980, from a range of 13 million km.
