In 1863 theNinth Kentucky remained under orders with thearmy of Tennessee, while the rest of Morgans cavalrywere on the Ohio raid. During the fall of 1863 theFirst, Second and Ninth Kentucky were formed into the Second Ken-tucky brigade, attached to General Wheelers corps and served to theclose of the war with the army of Tennessee. On Shermans march to the sea this brigade was very active, and didmuch valiant service. December 1, 1864, Captain Leovy was dangerously wounded whileleading a charge, in a cavalry fight near Bethel Church, in Brock county,Ga. His was a remarkable recovery, as he was shot through the bowelsand
