Where a clergyman of the Churchhappened—as was too often the case—to be worldly or a loose liver, why shoulddevout people be compelled to receivefrom his hand the sacred elements?Those who had received all, or nearlyall, of their religious instruction withinthe walls of one of Wesleys chapels,were certain to demand that they shouldnot be required to go elsewhere for therites of their religion.
