(HOLOTYPE: "LaPrieur in ; No collection that can be identified positively as the holotype can be found, though there are specimens in the Herbarium Richard in P! that were col- lected by Le Prieur in Senegal in 1829. These are not labeled as Chloris triflora, and there are no other data on the labels. Dr. W. D. Clayton, in a personal commu- nication, says that the type cannot be found at CN. Under these circumstances, it must be presumed lost. The description, while not detailed enough for positive identifica- tion, suggests strongly
