American victories in the War of 1812

The most decisive of these engagements was The Battle of New Orleans which took place on January 7, 1815, weeks after the Treaty of Ghent, ending the war, had been signed. It is the central image on this textile produced by Scottish printer C. Gray is titled "The Glorious Victory of New Orleans." A key at the bottom identifies ten elements, such as "General Jackson Leading His Troops to Victory". Six of the seven surrounding vignettes depict naval actions.
