The Danzantes are figures carved in stone showing what are thought to be mutilated captives at the pre-Columbian Zapotec ruins of Monte Alban in Oaxaca, Mexico. A UNESCO World Heritage Site. Orignially they were thought to be dancers, but this is no longer believed.
