SAINTS - AGATHA Saint Agatha. Little is known of the virgin martyr, Agatha, save that she died in Catania, Sicily. What little is known has been augmented by a series of fictitious 'Acts', whose virginity was tried by the consul Quintinian, during the course of which she was handed over to a brothel-keeper, and various forms of torture. Process print, from Alban Butler's The Lives of The Fathers, Martyrs and Other Principles Saints, edition of circa 1928.
