Reconstruction of a Cavetto Cornice, New Kingdom, Dynasty 18, ca. 1390–1353 , From Egypt, Upper Egypt, Thebes, Malqata, Temple of Amun, on floor of rooms in southwest corner, 1916–17, Faience, modern plaster and gold paint, H. cm (10 1/8 in.); w. cm (13 15/16 in.), This is a reconstruction of a small section of cavetto cornice, an architectural feature usually found above the temples doors and around the upper edge of shrines. A large section of the original cornice was found lying on the floor in storage rooms at the southwest corner of the Temple of Amun at the site of Malqata during the excavations in 1917
