The Scottish Executive announced (08 October 2013) that it was in negotiations with INFRATIL, the New Zealand based owners of Prestwick Airport, Ayrshire, Scotland, UK, with the intention of taking the airport into public ownership, making significant investments and saving up to 1700 jobs.
