When we were leavingthe blind at five oclock, I counted 94of these birds rising from the open field,of not more than twenty acres, whichsurrounded our hiding-place. Massachusetts has done a noble workin preserving this species for the pleasure,and doubtless for the future profit, ofmankind.—T. G. The Audubon Societies 253 The Minneapolis Bird-Club The Audubon Bird-Club of Minneapolisrecently held a bird-protective exhibitin that City, which created a great amountof interest. It was originally planned tohold this four days, but so many visitorscame that it was decided to keep opendouble that length of time. About 3,000visitors were registered, but many otherscame that were not counted. Audubonliterature, books, and supplies were dis-played, and a great deal of missionarywork was done. The entire success of the isbut another indication that the Minneapo-lis Audubon Bird Club is in good hands,and it has been a pleasure to welcome theorganization as a member of the NationalAssociation.
