A genus of Mexican oulbs; grows about one foot and a half high, producing flowers of the most exquisite beauty; the flowers large, about four inches across, of singularly curious shape, and the color of each variety gorgeous, and purely contrasted. Xo flower can exceed it in beauty. In bloom from July to the first of October. In autumn take up the bulbs, and keep them in a dry place, away from frost, until the time of planting in the spring.
