In front of the centers for the tongue and mouth parts, in Brocasconvolution, the third left frontal, motor vocal speech^ is principally rep-resented. In left-handed individuals this motor function is located onthe right side of the brain. If we take the Rolandic area, from the superior margin of the half-brain to the Sylvian fissure, and divide it into fifths by horizontal parallellines, the face occupies the lowest two-fifths, the upper extremity thenext two-fifths, and the trunk and lower extremity the highest and re-maining fifth. Sensory Cortical Localization.—The impossibility of accurately de-termining sensory disturbances in animals is one of the major reasons for theconfusion that exists regarding the cortical representation
