The inaccessible crest of mount Sabotino (Sabotin) looks over the narrow valley of the river Isonzo (Soca). The closely-planted white posts and the bunker mark the boundary between Italy and Slovenia and remind us that in the years of the Cold War the Iron Curtain ran along that line.
