These pair of teal male and female were walking over the ice formed in the margins of the lake at warnham wildlife reserve. The bright yellow side of the males tail and dark green eye patch stands out against the white icey lake surface as does the green patches on the wings. There is another image like this but with reed stalks showing through the ice.
