Adelie penguins nesting. Adelie penguins (Pygoscelis adeliae) inhabit the Antarctic Peninsula and nearby islands, where they feed mainly on krill and small fish. They build their nests out of pebbles so that the eggs are insulated from the frozen ground and snow. Photographed on Paulet Island, Antarctic Peninsula, Antarctica.
