Frozen Great Lakes. Satellite image showing snow and ice covering the entire United States region of the Great Lakes during a deep freeze in February 2015, from Lake Ontario (top) to Lake Erie (bottom centre), with the Niagara River (dark lines, centre right) also shown. The eastern half of the United States was trapped in a deep freeze for most of February 2015, during which hundreds of records were set for daily low temperatures and multiple ice storms hit the region. Imaged by the Operational Land Imager (OLI) onboard the Landsat 8 satellite, on 20th February 2015.
