German Buddhist Temple, Lumbini Monastic Zone, Lumbini, Nepal. Lumbini is one of the worlds most Buddhist spiritual sites and the birthplace of Siddhartha Gautama, the founder of Buddhism. Lumbini Monastic Zone has a number of monasteries and temples build by Buddhist organizations from various countries, have been completed or are still under construction. Lumbini was made a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1997.
