Leuschner observatory. Astronomer uses a 76 cm (30 inch) optical reflecting telescope at the Leuschner observatory, near San Francisco, USA. This observatory is run by the astronomy department of the University of California at Berkeley. It has two reflecting telescopes, the one seen here, and a 50 cm reflecting telescope. Until 1994, the observatory was used for conducting the Leuschner Observatory Supernova Search (LOSS). This project discovered several supernovae. The Leuschner Observatory was also involved in the detailed monitoring of transient objects.
