Mr. Peabody prepared for college at St. Marks School, South-boro, and entering Harvard, was graduated in the class of a decided taste for a business life, he became a clerk in thebanking house of Lee, Higginson & Co. (Boston), of which hisgrandfather, John C. Lee, was one of the founders.
