By ligaments the wrist is fastened to the arm, indepen-pendently of muscles; the shoulder to the shoulder blade; —the head to the first bone of the neck ; — the ribs to thespine, and the vertebrae to each other. The office, there-fore, which these deep seated, almost unnoticed strapshold, in binding the whole frame together, cannot beoverlooked by any one who contemplates the marvellouswork of God, as exhibited in our own complex, yet beau-tifully fashioned bodies.
