You will notice that in the northwestern counties there has been a marked increase in the yield per acre. There has also been a large increase in some of the middle-eastern counties of the State. These counties represent the territory where sheep have been most largely kept. The great sheep region of the State lies there, while the great corn region of Ohio, formerly in the Miami and Scioto valleys, is now found in the flat northwestern coun- ties, and Illinois farmers are selling their black, rich farms around.
