I have been using Paris green, but I do not like it, as it sometimes burns the foliage if too much of it is used. ,S. T. H.—Ind. If you receive your lily bulbs as early as October 15 they will be in ample time. As a rule, giganteums do not ar- rive much before October. This lily likes a good heat from the start. Place the pots in a shed, in a cellar or be- low greenhouse benches, where the minimum will be 60 degrees. Maintain this temperature and your jjlants will be in ample time. The buds should show distinctly when Lent begins. About six weeks will be needed to have the flowers open.
