Rainbow lorikeet (Trichoglossus haematodus) feeding on parrot tree flowers (Schotia brachypetala) flowers. This parrot uses its tongue to feed on the pollen and nectar of flowers. It is found in Australia, eastern Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, New Caledonia, Solomon Islands and Vanuatu. It has also been introduced to Perth, New Zealand and Hong Kong. The rainbow parrot inhabits rainforest, coastal bush and woodland areas. It grows up to around 30 centimetres in length and has a wingspan of around 17 centimetres.
