(SeeSchool Laws, Art. VI, Sec. 53-54.) The annual meeting is the one day in the year whenthe district household meets to cast up accoimts and planfor the coming year. It is the duty of each and everycitizen in the district to be present and give his supportand cooperation to the school board in its efforts to improveschool conditions. The trustees should urge upon the pa-trons of the school the importance of their presence at theannual meeting—the most important meeting of the HANDBOOK FOR RURAL SCHOOL TRUSTEES 7 Annual Meeting Third Monday in April The time for the annual meeting is the third Monday ofApril of each year. It is the duty of the clerk of the boardof trustees to cause notices of the annual meeting to beposted in three public places in the district, one. of whichshall be at the school house, if there be one, at least ten daysprevious to the time of such meeting. If the clerk fails togive such notice, then any two legal voters residing in thedistrict may give such notice over their own names, andsuch annual meeting may be held after the third Mondayin April. (Sec. 54-a.) Necessary Slanks for Annual Meeting The clerk should secure from the county superintendentthe following blanks: , 1. Oath of Judge of Election 2. Oath of Clerk of Election 3.
