Members and supporters of the UK's LGBT community gathered at Old Palace Yard opposite The House of Lords as peers listened to the third reading of the Gay Marriage Bill. The London Gay Men's Chorus lead the crowd in song, creating a joyful, festival atmosphere. The crowd erupted into cheers as news came through that the bill had passed. Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg visited the gathering and spoke of how pleased he was that this cross party initiative had succeeded.
