The vines are of strong vigorous growth with abundant foliage. The fruits, set in clusters, are very even and regular in size, averaging three inches in diain- x \ >⢠rm new eter and two to two and a half inches through from stem to blossom end. Color bright scarlet ; perfectly smooth and free fr< cracks; the interior is very meaty, having an extra large and entirely solid center, but no hard or green core, being evenly ripened throughout. Seed-cells few and extremely small, with very few seeds. It ripens with the second earlies and yields abundantly throughout the season. The handsome color, even size, and great solidity of " Succkss" make it an excel- lent market sort. It is particu- larly well adapted also to can- ners' use by reason of its rich deep-red color,unusual solidity of flesh, and desirable form for rapid peeling without waste.
