Farmers tie logs to their Pointed Gourd (Potol or Patol in Bengali) vegetable creeper platform loft to protect them from storms. The pollen is attached manually to those pointed gourd flowers so that the flower may bear fruit even in the absence of Honeybee-like helpful insects. Tropical Cyclone 'Yaas' is about to hit with heavy rains. The Agriculture department has been asked to keep the vegetable loft tightly tied so that the storm does not cause damage.
