(Dec. 6, 2018) - Naval aviators from various commands under Commander, Strike Fighter Wing Atlantic and Commander, Naval Air Force Atlantic, operating out of Naval Air Station Oceana, fly a 21-jet missing man formation over the George Bush Library and Museum at the Interment ceremony for the late President George Bush. In addition to serving as our nation's leader from 1989-1993 as the 41st President of the United States, Mr. Bush was a Naval aviator during World War II and received the Distinguished Flying Cross for his heroic actions in the Pacific. Nearly 4,000 military and civilian personnel from across all branches of the armed forces, including Reserve and National Guard components, provided ceremonial support during George H. W. Bush's state funeral.
