Church of St Philip du Roule

The view taken in 1828, shows the Church of St Philip du Roule built in 1769 to designs by the architect Chalgrin. It is a modern version of an ancient basilica. The portico has four Doric columns and a pediment. In the church are chapels to the Virgin and St Philip. It became a Chapel of Ease to the Parish of Madeline or Assmption. The image was drawn by T T Bury under the direction of A Pugin and engraved by Romney
