Abdominal arteries, coloured X-ray. At upper centre the hepatic artery (left) and the splenic artery (right) branch from the coeliac trunk (not seen). The coeliac trunk is an artery that branches from the aorta, the body's main artery. The hepatic artery supplies oxygenated blood to the liver, while the splenic artery supplies the spleen.
