Crystals of purplish pink tourmaline (variety rubellite) growing on a substrate of lepidolite, a type of mica. Tourmaline is a complex silicate of aluminium and boron which occurs in many colours including black, brown, blue, green, red and pink. This specimen measures 12 x 7 cm and was found in Itatiaia's Mine, Conselheiro Pena, Brazil.
