Blue agave "pineapples" waiting to be processed into a tequila-like drink at Los Osuna, agave distillery, a rustic tequila factory near La Noria, a small town 33 km (21 miles) northeast of Mazatlan, Mexico. Leaves are cut off the agave plant, then the remaining core is cut into pieces, steamed and mashed to get the sweet sap which is then distilled to make the liquor.
