In onecase the cotton is pulled out and scattered through bins provided for it,being given some mixing by the intermingling of cotton from differentbales. In the other case, a machine called a bale breaker is used. Inthis country the hand process is very largely adopted, and it isundoubtedly very satisfactory, especially where loosely baled Americancotton is used.
