A South German wheellock rifle Alpine circa 1720. Slightly swamped, six-groove rifled octagonal barrel in 12 mm calibre with dovetailed front sight and adjustable sight. Engraved monogram "F P" at the breech. Chiselled wheellock with florally engraved wheel cover. The set trigger with iron trigger guard with finger rests. The walnut full stock, carved with hunting scenes and flowers, with horn inlays, nose and ramrod tubule. Carved monogram "JHG" at the patch-box. The wooden ramrod with horn tip is a replacement.
