The plats are usually one-tenth or one-twentieth acre in size, andare used for experiments in crop rotation, tillage, constant croppingwith and without fertilizers, dates of planting, etc. In connectionwith the farm the station maintains and owns 40 acres which aredevoted to a four-course rotation of maize, oats, wheat, and clover.
