The old pilot staion at Kobba Klintar on the approach to Mariehamn harbour, Åland

The pilot station at Kobba Klintar, on the approach to Marihamn's western harbour, was in use from 1862 to 1972. The building has now been restored and contains a cafe which has resulted in the small island being a popular boating destination. The figure on the balcony is a model pilot looking out for approaching ships.
