Lockheed P-38L Lightning 44-53186 N505MH, G-MURU, Second World War fighter plane at the Biggin Hill International Air Fair in 1989. The aircraft was purchased after the war from War Assets Administration for use in aerial mapping into the 1960s before being stored and later restored as a warbird. Flown in the USA in the 1980s as N505NH then to the UK with Doug Arnold/Warbirds of GB in 1989 with G-MURU reserved though not taken up. Returned to the USA in 1990 and has passed through various owners until 2014 being purchased by The American Heritage Museum
