The branches of study pursued by the pupils arereading, writing, arithmetic, geography, English grammar,history of the United States, algebra, astronomy, pliysiology,vocal and instrumental music and calisthenics, with the con-stitutiens of the state and United States. In the mechanicaldepartment are made mattresses, brooms, cane-seat chairs,bead-work, etc. The institution has a brass band, which isreported as doing well.
