Previously he had lived in NorthSydney. Capt. McKinnon, who was 28 yearsold, commenced soldiering eleven yearsago, when he received a commission inthe 94th Battalion. On the declarationof war he discontinued taking an activepart in the business and undertook warduties. He left here last June for over-seas with the rank of captain, but inorder to serve in France reverted to therank of lieutenant. Joining the 85thBattalion during last November, heserved with them till his death. Private Thomas McBroom, Govan,Sask., who enlisted with the 195th Bat-talion in March, 1916, returned from thefront on Monday night. Private Mc-Broom received shrapnel wounds in theface, arms and legs in July of last yearat Hill 70. Before enlisting he was employed inHarry Lattas grocery store. T. H. John
